Live sports, scored and streamed from the stands.

StreamScoreLive turns a phone or tablet into a small production truck: the camera, a scoreboard drawn over the video, a second device for keeping score, and a live stream to YouTube, Facebook or your own server. Built for club, school and community sport, where the person filming is usually also the one keeping score.

What it does

Scoreboard on the broadcast

Score, period or end, shots, penalties, timeouts, the count and the bases, whichever the sport calls for. The board is drawn into the video itself, so viewers see it on any platform, and it is drawn on screen for you as well.

Two devices, one game

Pair a second phone or tablet as the Producer. It keeps score, changes lineups and drives player spotlights over a local connection while the Streamer stays on the camera. Either device can run alone.

Fourteen sports, one workflow

Hockey, soccer, football, basketball, lacrosse, volleyball, pickleball, badminton, table tennis, tennis, baseball, softball, curling and curling doubles, each with its own board, stats and end-of-game report. A practice layout draws guide lines instead of a score.

On the tablet and on the phone

Real captures from the app. The camera region is replaced with a venue photo for these pictures; everything else is the app as it runs.

Hockey on a 10-inch tablet. The controls on the right are the operator's; the broadcast shows only the video and the board.

Volleyball on a phone: sets, points and the serve marker.
StreamScoreLive on a phone: a baseball diamond with the line score, hits, errors and the count
Baseball keeps the count, the bases and the line score.
StreamScoreLive on a tablet: a curling club with the end-by-end board, the hammer marker and timeouts
Curling, where the app started: ends, the hammer and a rock tracker.

How the app uses your accounts

Signing in is optional. The camera, the scoreboards, the Producer pairing and streaming to a server you run all work without any account. An account is only needed to publish to your own YouTube channel or Facebook Page, and the app asks for it only when you pick that destination.

Google and YouTube

When you choose YouTube as the destination, the app asks you to sign in with Google and requests the YouTube scope. With it the app does three things on your behalf, and nothing else: it creates a live broadcast on your channel with the title and privacy setting you type, it reads the ingest address YouTube assigns so the video can be sent there, and it ends the broadcast when you stop. Sign-in runs in your browser through Google's own pages, so the app never sees your password. The access token stays on your device. DataNova operates no server that receives it, and the app does not read your videos, subscriptions, comments or watch history.

Facebook

When you choose Facebook, the app asks you to log in with Facebook and requests the permissions needed to list the Pages you manage, to create a live video on the Page or timeline you pick, and to end it. Nothing is posted without you pressing Go Live, and the app does not read your feed, friends or messages. The token stays on your device.

Both connections can be revoked at any time from the app's Stream settings, from your Google account's third-party access page, or from Facebook's Business Integrations settings. Details, including how to have any data removed, are on the privacy policy and its data deletion section.

StreamScoreLive is on Google Play's internal testing track while the store listing and the platform approvals are completed. Testers are added by invitation; write to us if you run a club or league stream and want in. The public listing follows.

Requires Android 8.0 or later. Streaming to YouTube needs a channel that YouTube has enabled for live streaming. Streaming to Facebook needs a Page you manage, or your own timeline.
